Tianjin Technology Delegation composed of the experts from Tianjin Science and Technology Commission, Nankai University, Tianjin University, Northern Technology Exchange Market and The Institute of Seawater Desalination and Multipurpose Utilization, SOA (Tianjin), visited in Britain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates from 28^th of October, 2009 to 8^th of November, 2009. During the visit, the delegation investigated the related institutes and companies in the field of bio-technology, desalination and environmental protection and held face to face meeting with the offices of IDA for bidding 2013 World Congress.

In Britain, the delegation visited Bio Industry Association (BIA), Health Tech & Medicines Knowledge Transfer Network, Environmental Knowledge Transfer Network, University of Oxford, University of Edinburgh and Mitsubishi Parma Europe Ltd.

In the discussion with the officers of BIA, plenty of topics on association with British institutes in the field of Tianjin bio-medical research, bio-economic development and bio-industry promotion have been investigated. The cooperation intention in the aspect of approaches and fields has reached an agreement.

In the University of Oxford, the delegation paid a visit to ISIS, specialized agency of Oxford in charge of technology transfer work, Oxford University Begbroke Science Park and ZYOXEL.

In Egypt, the delegation visited Egypt Environmental Protection Association. The experts from the association make a presentation about research and market prospects of desalination and environmental protection in Egypt.

The delegation also took part in 2009 IDA World Congress in Dubai, UAE, in order to study the practical organization experiences on the forum and exhibition. For the propose to bid 2013 IDA World Congress, IDA officers expressed the ideas to regard Tianjin as the prior city to hold the 2013 Congress.
