In the afternoon on the 21st September, ¡°Tianjin-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum and Joint Project Symposium¡±, which is organized by Cross-Strait Communication Center for the Ministry of Science and Technology, sponsored by Science and Technology Commission of Tianjin Municipality and Taiwan Master Group, held in Tianjin. Mr. Yang Dongliang, the member of Standing Committee of the People¡¯s Congress of Tianjin and vice mayor of Tianjin Government, met with Taiwan delegation. In the opening ceremony, Mr. Li Jiajun, director of Tianjin Science and Technology Commission, and Mr. Li Yuwen, director of Taiwan delegation and president of Taiwan Master Group made the speech. Later, Mr. He Zhimin, deputy director of Tianjin Science and Technology Commission, Hu Panshan, deputy director of Science and Technology Bureau of Tianjin Binhai New Area Administrative Committee, and Zhuang Jianshu, deputy head of Taiwan delegation made the reports respectively on the theme of the development of Tianjin science and technology, the development and opening-up of Binhai New Area and the situation and development of Taiwan enterprises.
Northern Technology Exchange Market organized about 100 Tianjin enterprises to join in the meeting. In the following meeting, both Tianjin and Taiwan enterprises had discussed in the fields of bio-tech, environment protection and manufacture. In addition, Taiwan delegation still investigated Binhai New Area, Tasly Group and some Taiwan-owned enterprises in Tianjin. Over 60 representatives of Taiwan businessmen delegation came to Tianjin. They are very interested in the development opportunity of the development and opening-up of Binhai New Area and appraised highly the development of Tianjin, even Binhai New Area and investment environment; meanwhile all of them expected to further strengthen the finance and trade, science and technology communication and cooperation between both parts, and came up with some intentions of investment and project cooperation.
