As one of the important activities in 2007 China-South Korea Friendship Year and China- Korea Science and Technology Week, ¡°China- Korea (Tianjin) Biotech Cooperation Forum and China-Korea Biotech Technomart¡± sponsored by two countries¡¯ Ministry of Science and Technology held in Binhai New Area
Mr. Woo-Sik KIM, Korea vice premier and minister of Ministry of Science and Technology along with the delegation on science and technology of Korean government took part in the meeting. Mr. Dai Xianglong, mayor of Tianjin Government met with Korea guests and held a speech in the opening ceremony of forum. Meanwhile, there are other Chinese leaders taking part in meeting, opening ceremony and visiting along with the delegation such as Mr. Chen Chaoying and Gou Lijun, members of Standing Committee of the People¡¯s Congress of Tianjin, He Ronglin, secretary-general of Tianjin Government, and so on. Mr. CHOI JAE-IK, vice chairman of South Korea Industrial Technology Association also attended the opening ceremony.
The year of 2007 is not only the 15th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Korea, but also the 15th Anniversary of the signing of science and technology cooperation agreement. Both Chinese and Korean government confirmed this year as China-South Korea Friendship Year. Chinese and Korean ministry of science and technology decided to hold China-South Korea technological Week activities together in the friendship year. China- Korea (Tianjin) Biotech Cooperation Forum and China-Korea Biotech Technomart holding in Binhai New Area is one of the important activities, which will promote the cooperation between Korean biotech research institutions and enterprises and those of Tianjin, push the development and Opening-up of Binhai New Area and the construction of China Biological Medicine and International Innovation Cluster. After the opening ceremony, Mr. Wang Hongguang, director of China National Center for Biotechnology Development, Mr. PARK JONG-SEI, chairman of Korean Biological Venture Enterprise Association, Mr. He Zhimin, deputy director of Tianjin Science and Technology Commission, Mr. CHANG SOO-IK, chairman of Korean Life and Engineering Incubation planning promotion commission, made the report on China biology industry technology, Korean biology industry, Tianjin Binhai New Area, China biological medicine, international innovation cluster and the basic planning of South Korean second life engineering.
In the afternoon, over 70 representatives from 39 Korean enterprises, universities and research institutions held face-to-face meeting with about 200 representatives from 107 enterprises, universities and research institutions in Tianjin and Bohai-Rim Region on the development of biotechnology and industrialization. During the meeting, Chinese and Korean enterprises reach cooperation intentions and signed 15 MOUs. Tianjin enterprises invited some Korean enterprises to visit their companies or factories next day. As one of the main organizers, Northern Technology Exchange Market invited some pertinent enterprises of Tianjin and Bohai-Rim Region to meet with those of Korea, which worked out good results. At present, Northern Technology Exchange Market is following up the projects of cooperation intention and prepare for further services. |
