| President of NTEM made a speech at 2004 Workshop
on Development of S&T Intermediary Mechanism

On February 9-10, 2004, Mr. Liu Youlin, president of Northern Technology Exchange Market(NTEM), was invited to attend the 2004 Workshop on Development of S&T Intermediary Mechanism held in Beijing Hotel. In the morning of February 10, he made a speech named Building up the International Communicate Platform and Facilitating the Cooperation among Science & Technology Intermediaries of member countries in APEC. The practices of NTEM building up the international communicate platform and the ideas about further promoting the cooperation among science & technology intermediaries of member countries in APEC were extensively approved.
This Seminar was held jointly by Ministry of Science and Technology, P.R. China and Ministry of science and Technology, Thailand, responding the proposal that president Hu Jintao had proposed at 11th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. Mr. Li Xueyong, vice minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, P.R. China, Mr. Shen Guofang, assistant minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sarist, standing vice secretary-general of Ministry of science and Technology, Thailand, and others officials addressed at the opening ceremony. 180 representatives from 14 member countries of APEC attended. They discussed the development of science and technology intermediaries and scientific innovation in Asia and Pacific Area.
