| Vice President with NTEM Attend the Opening Ceremony of Sino-Korea Technological Cooperation Center For Electronic Parts Industry

At the invitation Mr. Liu Peiqi, the vice president with NTEM, came to be present at the opening ceremony of Sino-China Technological Cooperation Center for Electronic Parts Industry held in Tsinghua University on July 15 2003. He also attended the technological seminar in the afternoon.
Sino-China Technological Cooperation Center for Electronic Parts Industry is a technology service institution jointly set up by Tsinghua University and Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) with the aim at promoting the technological cooperation between China and Korea. Korean government paid great attention to this center. In the speech given by newly elected Korean President Roh Moo-hyun during his visit to Tsinghua University, he mentioned: "In next week, Sino-China Technological Cooperation Center for Electronic Parts Industry established by both Tsinghua University and KETI will open. Here my congratulations to it. And I believe that we'll see a more vigorous future of the cooperation between two countries in the hi-tech areas."
Many officials and experts attended the opening ceremony, including the officials from Industrial Resources Department of Korea, the president of KETI, vice principals in charge of this project and some experts of Tsinghua University, officials concerned from the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, and representatives from parts of companies in Beijing.
After the opening ceremony, NTEM's vice president, Mr. Liu Peiqi had a brief meeting with the president of KETI, Mr. Choon-Ho Kim. Mr. Liu first extended his congratulations on the establishment of the center, then he showed appreciation to Mr. Kim for his regards to NTEM when the SARS outbreak in China. Both sides are fully confident that the coming Sino-Korea Electronic Hi-tech Expo held in Tianjin in Nov. this year will be a big success. And both sides signed a formal cooperation agreement concerned the Expo after the meeting.
