| Sci-Tech Intermediary Organizations Nationwide Have A Meeting in Beijing

On December 2, 2002, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China held a meeting of sci-tech intermediary organizations nationwide in Beijin. With the guidance of "Three Represents" theory, this meeting followed the purposes of studying and carrying out the spirits of the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, deepening the reconstruction of sci-tech mechanism, improving the sci-tech service system, so as to promote the development of national innovation system, speed up the transformation of research results to productivity, and make the science and technology play the most important role in building a well-off society in an all-round way. On the bases of further understanding the "Three Represents" theory and the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way, the meeting focused on the points as follows: the summarization and exchange of the experiences on the development of sci-tech intermediary organizations across China; the analyses of the new situations and problems the sci-tech organizations face with; the discussions on the methods and policies to accelerate the development of sci-tech intermediary, and the deployment of the work for the next step. This meeting will be a great promotion for the development of the sci-tech organizations of China in the future. Representatives from different regions, administrative offices of different intermediary organizations, and parts of the sci-tech intermediary organizations came to be present at the meeting.
Minister Xu Guanhua addressed on the meeting, titled "Carefully Studying and Carrying out the Spirit of the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Following the Guidance of "Three Represents" Theory, Grasping the Opportunities, Exploration and Innovation, Promoting the Development of Sci-tech Intermediary Organizations in China Drastically". He put forward a plan to improve the sci-tech intermediary service system of China in the coming five years, and also identified the next year as the "Construction Year of Sci-tech Intermediary Organization". The Vice Ministers of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, Mr. Li Xueyong and Mr. Ma Songde and other officials concerned came to be present at the meeting.
And the president of Northern Technology Exchange Market gave a speech on the meeting as a representative from sci-tech organizations, which was thought highly by the officials at the meeting and the professionals in this field.
