| International Technology Transfer & Intellectual Property Strategy Seminar held in Tianjin

Hosted by China Technology Market Management & Promotion Center, Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and China Technology Market Association, International Technology Transfer & Intellectual Property Strategy Seminar opened in Tianjin on Oct. 25, 2002. On the opening ceremony, Mr. Han Deqian, the Chairman of China Technology Market Association, and Mr. Liang Su, Vice Chairman of Tianjin Committee of CPPCC gave addresses respectively to extend the warmest welcome to the experts abroad and at home and all the representatives across China. More than 150 representatives from over 20 provinces, including Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan, participated in this conference.
Three foreign experts, Mr. Terry A. Young, the president of AUTM, USA, Mr. Uwe Haug, the head of International Affairs of Steinbeis Foundation, Germany and Mr. Murakami Takeshi, the director of TECHNOMART Dept., Japan Industrial Location Center made wonderful speeches on the seminar. Besides the plenary presentations, they also attended the small group discussion to exchange ideas with the professionals in China fully. And senior officials from Ministry of Science and Technology, Management & Promotion Center of SINOTECHMART, such as Mr. Zhu Chuanbai, the head of Dept. of Policy, Regulation & System, Mr. Zhang Xuguo, the director of Management & Promotion Center of SINOTECHMART, and presidents of the major technology exchange markets in China also gave speeches at the seminar.
Through various kinds of activities during the seminar, Chinese representatives further their knowledge about the policies and regulations on technology transfer and IP protection, as well as the successful operation experience of developed countries. Foreign experts also knew well about the present situation and related policies and regulations of technology transfer in China. It gave both sides a good opportunity to get well known about each other so as to create more chances to cooperate in the future.
