'SINOŁJAPAN SOFTWARE PROCUCTS EXPO 2002' was held in Northern Technology Exchange Market on May 14. Mr. Liang Su, Vice Chairman of Tianjin Committee of CPPCC, and the vice president of Japan Software As-sociation cut the ribbon for the EXPO. Leaders from Ministry of Information Industry, China Software Industry Association, and the former Vice Mayor of Kobe, Japan were present at the opening ceremony. More than 70 software companies from Japan, such as NEC Corporation, FUJITSU, and 25 Chi-nese software companies, including Tianjin Global Magnetic Card co., Ltd (GMCC), Tianda Tiancai Commercial Automation Co., Ltd and etc, exhibited their software products, and negotiated with many attendees on the potential cooperation. At the afternoon of that day, Mr. Ma Songde, the vice minister of The Ministry of Science and Technology of China came all the way to North-ern Technology Exchange Market to have a visit of the Expo.
On May 15, 'Sino-Japan Software Cooperation Forum 2002' opened at Sheraton Hotel. Before the beginning of the Forum, Minister Ma Songde, Mr. Yang Dongliang, the vice mayor of Tianjin, and Mr. Liang Su, Vice Chairman of Tianjin Committee of CPPCC, met the chief members of Japanese delega-tion. Then Mayor Yang addressed at the Forum. And Minister Ma also gave a wonderful lecture. The Forum focused on six main points as follows: the poli-cies on the development of software industry, IT strategy promoted by the government, the optimization of the development environment for IT, bridge the gap between government and companies, and the role of the association in software industry. And this Forum as the principles of " Communication, Development, Prosperity" had further discussions on technology, manage-ment and the mode of cooperation in software industry between China and Japan. It provides a good chance for Chinese and Japanese companies to exchange ideas well. And it has been the largest scaled meeting of the high-est level with Japan on software industry in Tianjin until now.
