| 8th Annual Meeting of NTEM Held

The 8th annual meeting of NTEM was held on Mar 27, 2002. Mr. Han Deqian, the past vice minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, the president of China Association of Technology Markets, Mr. Ma Yanjun, the vice director of China Technology Market Management & Promotion Center, Mr. Liang Su, the vice president of CPPCC Tianjin Committee, and other relevant officials from Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Commission presented the meeting.
Over 130 representatives of NTEM's members came to attend the meeting, who were from universities and research institutions, such as Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA), Nankai University, and Tianjin University, Research Institute of Forestry, Academy of Machinery Science & Technology, Tianjin Academy of Agricultural Science, and etc. The attendees also included many representatives from the universities and research institutes which are the members of NTEM's network of technology supply, for example, Xi'an Industry University, Huazhong University of Science & Technology, Institute of Dynamics, Chinese Academy of Science.
On the meeting, Mr. Liu Youlin, the president of NTEM, made a report to the attendees about the achievement in the past year and the plan for the coming year of NTEM. The Members of the Year were awarded on the meeting. Mr. Han Deqian delivered a closing speech on the development of technology transfer in China, as well as the prospective of technology transfer with China's entry into WTO. On panel discussions, representatives, divided into three groups, all expressed their ideas and offered suggestions on accelerating the transform of research results to productivity and the development of high technologies enthusiastically. They also said that the annual report of NTEM made by President Liu gave them a deep impression, which was objective and encouraging. Through it, they had got a clear idea about NTEM's plan in 2002,so as to cooperate with NTEM more closely.
The annual meeting was one of the most important events of NTEM, which had been a great opportunity to enhance communication between NTEM and its members.
